Oracle is Set to Initiate their First Indian Data Center

The need for data and energy grows as technological advances continue to change the way companies do business. Oracle announced the launch of their first Indian Data Center which will be set up in Mumbai. It will allow Oracle to take on bigwigs such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure that have a large presence in the country.

Andrew Mendelsohn, Executive Vice President, Oracle Database said that they see immense possibilities in terms of revenue for India, which is already the sixth largest country in the world. That's why here they are building a cloud data center which will help their business to grow. The data center will look at workloads for Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), and the organization is also preparing for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) along with other approaches before it is opened up to the market.

The MNC is determined to bring its business cloud to customers worldwide and will continue to promote client and partner demands, according to Shailender Kumar, Regional Managing Director, Oracle India. He further stated that Indian customers quickly accept and upgrade to Autonomous Database, a self-driving technology that uses Machine Learning to allow unparalleled accessibility, high performance, and reliability at a much reasonable cost.

India is one of Asia Pacific's largest and rapidly growing cloud services markets. The company will be facing high competition from AWS already has two accessibility zones in Mumbai, while Microsoft has three of its 54 global data centers in Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai.
